Plan #GB-180 (10x12 Gable)
Built by: John H..

I recently completed my shed using your plans, with variations due to my situation. I made it 10 x 10 for an existing slab (concrete). I also added a 3 x 3 window on the back. I used slat scrap siding obtained from my son, he being in the const. trade. I used comp. shingles on the roof, paint left over from the house. I used the double door configuration using 2 x 3 KD for the frame & 3/8 CDX ply, 1 x 4 for the trim. I also changed the ridge beam from 2 x 8 to 2 x 6. It seems to be strong enough. My cost of material came to $510 all from Home Depot.

Here is a picture of the 12 x 16
storage shed I built from your plans.
I did however modify the plans
slightly due to the location.
I estimated I saved about
half the cost of buying a prebuilt
and mine is finished with vinyl
siding to match my house.
thanks for your help

Customer Comments:
Here are some photos of a shed I built using your plan # GB260. I eliminated the window to better use the wall space & used translucent roof vents to provide some interior light. I found your plan easy to follow & the shed simple to build.

I just completed my shed using your downloaded plans, the window is in the rear,  the door was moved to the center of the 12' wall. Excellent plans, I would use your service again.

Customer Comments:
I bought a set of your 8X8 storage shed plans. I used a pre-hung steel door, 30 year comp shingles and OSB siding. The building site isn't level so I used four concrete pedestals each on a 5" thick layer of base rock combined with 4x6 PT jack blocks for height compensation. I used 2x6 PT for the floor joists and there are no windows. It is wired with four 20A duplex receptacles and uses fluorescent lighting. The final cost of materials was just shy of $600 (I already had the door so you would have to add another $150) and I used the highest quality Kelly Moore paint so it would match my house. That price includes EVERYTHING, from wires to shingles. Here is a photo of the finished product. Thanks for the great plan

I modified it to add a 3 1/2 ft porch.  I also used 16" OC 2x4s to reinforce the flooring.  I used the barn style doors as outline in your plans and added 2 12x18 windows in the front and on 24"x24" on the side.

The plans were excellent, very easy to follow and understand.  I definitely will recommend your site for my friends that wish to build a shed!

We finished the shed in 2 weekends except for the roof, deck, and trim. We painted the shed to match our home. Shelves were added to the interior. We saved about $1,000 by building the shed compared to the pre fab sheds we looked at. The plans were complete and very easy to follow.
